Instantly

I came across a poem today. It is so very beautiful to me. From where I’ve been, what I’ve seen, endured, and experienced, I instantly resonated with this poem today.

It is in Armenian, so I took the pleasure of translating it.

INSTANTLY

They say that nothing in life happens instantly.

No carpet or rug is torn instantly.

Instantly, it is not built, nor does it collapse instantly.

It doesn’t snow, and even the wind doesn’t blow instantly.

Fruit doesn’t arrive instantly, let alone becoming wise.

A couple is not formed instantly, let alone become three.

They are not satiated nor become thirsty instantly.

Today is not yesterday, nor is tomorrow here today.

This is all true, of course. It is how it is.

Nevertheless, if they asked in my life, instantly, what would I prefer, what do I want, and dream.

I would say, whatever happens, let it happen; instantly.
